Professor Ovid Tzeng Opened a New Series of Academic Lecturesat CCSL

At the invitation of CCSL, Professor Ovid Tzeng, academician of "Chinese Research Institute" in Taiwan, China, famous psychologist and linguist, gave a series of academic lectures for the teachers and students of Beijing Language and Culture University. the theme of the lecture is "Paradigm Shifts in the Cognitive Neuroscience Investigation of the Mind/Brain Relationships". There are five lectures in the series. On May 25, 2022, Professor Ovid Tzeng started his first lecture online. The lecture, hosted by Dr. Lu Ji, a researcher at CCSL, attracted more than 160 participants from home and abroad.

The lecture will discuss the background, importance and future development of cognitive neuroscience research from a macro perspective. First of all, Professor Ovid Tzeng started with "Who are we? Where did we come from? Where are we going?" A series of philosophical questions raises the key role of intelligence in human development to the present, and suggests that cognitive neuroscience can provide cross-disciplinary integration, help us understand ourselves, and answer questions about historical development. In addition, Professor Tzeng explored the history of human cognitive development and the brief history of cognitive neuroscience, and hypothesized from the perspective of social and historical development that the cognition of human brain may be related to many important areas of social development, and that social history is reflected in the evolution of our brain. In his lectures, Professor Tzeng integrated many different fields of knowledge, such as "The Da Vinci Code", "The Source", astronomical constellations, the Six Books theory, etc., which made the content lively and interesting.
