Professor Luo Yuejia from the School of Psychology and Society of Shenzhen University was invited to give an academic lecture at the center. The lecture was titled “The Brain Cognitive Mechanism of Emotion and Executive Function”.

Professor Luo Yuejia first introduced the relationship between emotion and execution in brain cognition with two questions: "What is emotion?" and "What is executive function?". Professor Luo put forward "negative attentional bias" and explained related experiments. The experimental conclusion is: negative attentional bias occurs in the early stage of perception the late stage of stimulus evaluation and the stage of action preparation.

Then, Professor Luo introduced the three basic levels of attentional networks: alertness, orientation, and execution suppression, and explained the three levels layer by layer. Thirdly, he explained the three-stage theory of facial expression processing. Fourthly, Professor Luo elaborated on the issue of memory solidification and explained a related magnetic resonance experiment to help everyone understand.

Fifth, Professor. Luo explained the decision-making model, which mainly includes perceptual coding, evaluation of cognition (selection), behavior, and result. Sixthly, he analyzed an interesting experiment on whether fairness and anxiety would have an impact on decision-making. The experimental results show that fairness and the anxiety level of the subjects will influence the decision-making. Finally, Professor. Luo elaborated on the related issues of the dynamic interactive brain network model, mainly including executive functions and brain networks.

The execution functions mainly include: updating and switching; the inhibitory brain network mainly includes: salience network, default network, and central executive control network; when there is emotion, the connection between the networks will be significantly enhanced, the outermost prefrontal lobe, the insula and the hippocampus will be activated, and the interaction between the emotional network and the cognitive network will occur.

Professor Luo explained the profound in simple terms with vivid and humorous language, which aroused the interest of teachers and students present. After the lecture, everyone actively raised questions and had an in-depth academic exchange with Professor Luo
