About Us
The Center for the Cognitive Science of Language (CCSL) at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is an open international research institution that mainly engages in the research of Chinese as a Second Language Acquisition, Cognitive Science of Language and Brain Science, etc.
Researchers at CCSL conduct research across language acquisition and cognition, from psycholinguistics, language & cognitive neuroscience, language to cognitive simulation of language, etc. In addition, CCSL opens the "Language Acquisition and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory", which includes Eye-tracking Lab, EEG Lab, fNIRS Lab, Experimental Phonetics Lab with professional and advanced experimental equipment for scientific research.
In order to promote international academic exchanges and cooperation, and to spur the development of the study on cognitive science of language, we hereby hunt employees as our resident researchers, youth scientific researchers and postdoctoral researchers worldwide.
1. Resident Researchers
Duties:
l Carry out cooperative research and publish high-quality papers;
l Assist in the construction of research teams;
l Offer professional courses for postgraduate students at CCSL;
l Provide guidance to postgraduate students at CCSL.
Qualifications:
l Non-Chinese;
l Outstanding in academic research and have great teamwork spirits;
l Have outstanding contributions and important academic influence in the study fields;
l Possess at least the title of associate professor or other equivalent positions;
l Under 60 years old.
Annual Salary
l Senior researchers (renowned professor): up to 600,000 yuan (residency requirement: staying in CCSL at least 1 month per year; during the Covid-19 epidemic, both sides could choose the way of online academic cooperation).
l Intermediate researchers (associate professor or above): up to 300,000 yuan (residency requirement: staying in CCSL at least 3 month per year or above 1 year; during the Covid-19 epidemic, both sides could choose the way of online academic cooperation).
The specific sum of salary of the researchers depends on the actual workload. Both sides shall sign a work agreement based on the negotiation.
2. Youth Scientific Researchers
Duties:
l Research and publish high-quality papers;
l Conduct collaborative research;
l Offer specialized courses for postgraduate students at CCSL;
l Provide guidance to postgraduate students at CCSL.
Qualifications:
l Non-Chinese;
l Have an doctorate degree that was obtained outside China
l Have published academic results in international journals (SCI or SSCI) as the first author or corresponding author;
l Outstanding in academic research and have great teamwork spirits;
l Under 40 years old.
Annual Salary
l Range from 200,000 to 300,000 yuan (residency requirement: work at CCSL from 1 to 2 years).
The specific sum of salary of the researchers depends on the actual workload. Both sides shall sign a work agreement based on the negotiation.
3. Postdoctoral Researcher
Referring to the requirements of the Guidelines for Recruitment of Postdoctoral Researchers of Beijing Language and Culture University issued annually by BLCU, CCSL is recruiting international postdoctoral researchers. Details are as follows:
Qualifications:
l Non-Chinese;
l Have an doctorate degree that was obtained outside China
l Have published academic results in international journals (SCI or SSCI) as the first author or corresponding author;
l Offer specialized courses for postgraduates at CCSL.
Funding and Requirements:
l The foreign postdoctoral researchers at CCSL will be supported by the special funds of CCSL or Youth Talent Project Fund.
l The fund of each researchers ranges from 200,000 to 300,000 yuan, which depends on the actual work load.
l Residency requirement: 2 years.
