International Conference on Language Cognitive Science (First Call for Papers)

The International Conference on Language Cognitive Science (CLCS) will be held at the Center for the Cognitive Science of Language (CCSL) on June 5-6, 2021 at Beijing Language and Culture University. CLCS aims at promoting interdisciplinary research in language acquisition, cognition, neuroscience as well as artificial intelligence. This conference will enhance the academic exchanges and cooperation between China and the world.

 

All scholars, teachers, and students in relevant fields are welcomed to attend the conference and share opinions on the relative academic areas. With the present notification, the organizing committee also issues the call for papers. All contributions and participation to the conference are welcomed.

2. Format and Venue

The conference will be held both online and offline (on-campus students and teachers only) simultaneously.

Offline Conference Venue: Beijing Language and Culture University 

 

3. Schedule

Deadline for Abstract Submission: April 15, 2021

Event date: June 5-6, 2021

 

4. Topics

The conference will be focused on the following topics but not limited to them:

Cognitive and Neural Mechanisms of Language Acquisition

Language Switch and Cognition Control

Cognitive Mechanism of Speech Comprehension and Production

Cognitive and Neural Mechanism of Language Processing in Special Groups

Cognitive Linguistics (especially from an Experimental Perspective)

Cognitive Simulation of Language Based on Artificial Neural Network

Artificial Intelligence and Language Cognition

Application of Eye Tracking in the Study of Chinese Reading

 

5. Abstract Format and Submission

Abstract will be either in Chinese or in English.

Chinese abstract: No more than 800 characters (references are not included). The title should be written with song typeface and size three; the text should be with song typeface, smaller size four and single spaced.

English Abstract: No more than 500 words, the text should be written with Times New Roman, size 12.

The abstract should be submitted as a word file (.doc or .docx) to CLCS@blcu.edu.cn together with the author’s name, affiliation, professional title, email address, mobile number. All the file should be named as submission date- and author’s name- title (e.g. 210201-Jessie Wang- Encephalic Region of Developmental Dyslexia).

The deadline for submitting abstracts is April 15, 2021. The submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by the experts at the fields. Conference invitations will be sent before May 15, 2021.

 

6. Distinguished Young Scholar Forum

The committee plans to hold Distinguished Young Scholar Forum during the conference time. The forum aims at encouraging more young scholars to become involved in the research of language cognition, acquisition and brain science. Two distinguished young scholars will be invited to make oral presentations.
