From October 25th to 27th, 2019, the National Forum for Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition Research was successfully held at Wuhan University of Science and Technology. More than 160 experts, scholars and graduate students from 55 universities including Pennsylvania State University, University of International Business and Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Beijing Foreign Studies University. The topic was in deal with fields such as big data and linguistics research, cognitive linguistics research, pragmatics research, socio-cultural theory, classroom teaching, dialogue education and second language acquisition research. James P. Lantolf, a professor from the Department of Applied Linguistics at Pennsylvania State University, gave a keynote speech together with others. Associate Professor Rong Jiang, a full-time researcher of our center, was invited to attend the meeting and gave a report titled “Study on Cooperative Learning of Chinese Learners Based on Activity Theory”.
