Introduction to Pro. Xianglan Chen
Xianglan Chen, studied for her PhD at Beijing Normal University from 2003-2006, was a postdoctoral fellow at Peking University from 2006-2008, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Warwick, UK, from 2012-2013. During her PhD and postdoctoral studies, she mainly did research on metaphor theory in cognitive linguistics, and in the last decade, she expanded to empirical research on metaphor and other linguistic phenomena, and was the first to adopt the eye-movement technique to study Chinese metaphor, and published the results of Chinese metaphor eye-movement in core journals (Q1 of CSSCI and SSCI journals) at home and abroad. His research interests include cognitive linguistics, business language cognitive eye-movement research, rhetorical language eye-movement effect research, children's strabismus EEG, brain magnetism and neural mechanism research. He is in charge of more than 30 projects including the National Social Science Program and the Humanities and Social Science Program of the Ministry of Education. He has published more than 80 papers in international and domestic journals such as Frontiers of Psychology, Review of Cognitive Linguistics, Neuroscience Letters, Review of Cognitive Linguistics and Foreign Language Teaching and Research, among which He has published three monographs, and his independent theoretical monograph "Research on Language and High-Level Metaphor" won the second prize of the 7th National Excellent Scientific Research Achievement of Higher Education Institutions.
