Brief Introduction to the Presenter:


Hui Zhang, the Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Nanjing Normal University, Evaluation Expert of the National Social Science Fund Disciplinary Conference, Secretary-General and Vice-President of the Cognitive Linguistics Committee of the Chinese-English Comparative Studies Society, Vice-President of Jiangsu Foreign Linguistics Association, and Vice-President of the Psycholinguistics Committee of the Chinese-English Comparative Studies Society, Vice President of the Neurolinguistics Committee of the Chinese Language Modernization Society.


The general project led by Hui Zhang include the National Social Science Fund "Research on the Neural Mechanism of Chinese Idiomatic Understanding" and the key project of the National Social Science Fund, namely "Study on the Neural Cognitive Mechanism of Syntactic Processing of Chinese English Learners". Also, Zhang undertook the National Natural Science Fund project "Cognitive Study of Chinese Idiomatic Structures Based on Event-Related Potentials", chaired a sub-project of a major project of the National Social Science Fund “Study of Neurolexicology”.


He has published more than ten academic works and textbooks such as Studies on Cognitive Semantics of Idioms and Their Understanding, Cognitive Metonymy (which won the Second Prize of the Outstanding Achievement Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Jiangsu Province), Research on Cognitive Semantics and Cognitive Neuroscience Study of Idiomatic Representation and Processing (which won the first prize of the Outstanding Achievement Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Jiangsu Province). He has published more than 80 papers in renowned academic journals such as Foreign Language Teaching and Research and Journal of Foreign Languages. His research interests mainly include cognitive linguistics, neurolinguistics, and second language acquisition.
