Beijing Language University's CCSL announces the acceptance of applications for domestic visiting scholars during the 2023-2024 academic year. This opportunity has been approved by Beijing Language University to foster academic exchange between universities and cultivate outstanding personnel in the field of language and cognitive sciences. The specific guidelines and application process are detailed below:
I. Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must possess a good political and ideological quality, strong career and ethical standards.
Applicants should be in-service associate professors or above or outstanding lecturers with a master's degree or above.
Applicants must possess a solid foundation in theory and professional knowledge, the ability to independently engage in teaching and research work, a clear goal for their visit, and the ability to complete their visit in accordance with the required tasks.
II. Training Methods and Requirements:
The supervising professor will be responsible for each visiting scholar.
The usual duration of the visit is one year.
Upon admission, visiting scholars will work with their supervising professor to develop a study plan.
Visiting scholars are required to submit at least one academic paper or research report per term, and present their work in the research team. After the completion of the visiting program, a detailed personal annual summary report, scientific research achievements, and a completed form of "Domestic Visiting Scholar Evaluation" must be submitted. After review and approval by the supervisor and the base, a "Certificate of Domestic Visiting Scholar" will be issued.
III. Supervising Professors: Supervising professors and their respective research topics are listed in Annex 1.
IV. Application Process:
Applicants should consult with their supervising professor before completing two copies of the "Domestic Visiting Scholar Application Form" (see Annex 2). Upon approval from their respective universities, the form should be mailed to the Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Base for Language and Cognitive Sciences at Beijing Language University.
The base will issue an official letter of admission after review and approval from the supervising professor and the base. Applicants should register on campus at the designated time and failure to do so will result in automatic withdrawal. V. Fees: The tuition fee is RMB 20,000 per year.
VI. Application Deadline: From now until August 1, 2023.
VII. Notes:
Applicants engaged in fraud during the application process, will lose their eligibility as a visiting scholar.
The Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Base for Language and Cognitive Sciences at Beijing Language University is not responsible for expenses incurred during the visiting period, including tuition fees, accommodation, wages, travel expenses, and medical expenses.
Applicants who are unsuitable for long-term study and group living activities, such as pregnancy, infectious diseases, or mental illnesses, will not be accepted.
Visiting scholars must arrange for their own accommodation during the visit.
The base will release timely announcements via official channels in case of adjustments and modification due to reasons beyond control.
