Introduction to the Base
The Center forCognitive Science of Language at Beijing Language and Culture University is an international and open scientific research institution with the goal of constructing the discipline of "Language and Cognitive Science" and focusing on the research areas of second language acquisition and cognition in Chinese, language cognition and neuroscience, and language cognition and brain-like research. The base is supported by the "Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Program" of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education.
CCSL has two research teams, one international and one domestic, and aims to build a new interdisciplinary field of language and cognitive science through the integration of linguistics, psychology, cognitive science, and computer science. The base fully utilizes new technologies and methods in cognitive science research to explore the second language acquisition and cognitive neuroscience of Chinese, promote the international dissemination of Chinese, connect with China's "Brain Project," serve the national language and technology development strategy, and make positive contributions to the innovation of disciplines, the construction of first-class disciplines, and the construction of new liberal arts at our university.

Introduction of Collaborating Mentor
Wang Jianqinis the Director of the Innovation and Intelligence Base for Language and Cognitive Science at Beijing Language and Culture University. From 1992 to 1994, he was a visiting scholar at Deakin University in Australia, where he studied applied linguistics for his master's degree at the University of Melbourne. From 2000 to 2001, he pursued a PhD in applied linguistics at the University of Newcastle in Australia. In 2005, he obtained his PhD in linguistics and applied linguistics from Beijing Language and Culture University. His main research interests include Chinese acquisition and cognition, second language acquisition and cognitive neuroscience, and national language security and strategy.
He has published several works, including "Research on Chinese International Communication under the Background of Global Cultural Competition" (2015, The Commercial Press) and "Research on the Acquisition and Simulation of Tone Categories of Chinese as a Second Language Learners" (2017, The Commercial Press), and edited several academic works, such as "Research on Second Language Acquisition" (2012, The Commercial Press). He has published over 70 papers and has led and participated in multiple national social science fund major projects, key projects, and general projects. He has also led three major projects for the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education and one major project for the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education. His monograph "Research on the Acquisition and Simulation of Tone Categories of Chinese as a Second Language Learners" won the second prize of the eighth Higher Education Science Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education. He is a member of the editorial board of the international journal Chinese as a Second Language Research (CASLAR), as well as the editorial boards of Language Strategy Research and Chinese Language World. He is also an anonymous reviewer for several academic journals, including Language Teaching and Linguistic Studies, Language and Textual Studies, and Chinese Language Teaching and Research.
Chen Xianglan is a PhD graduate of Beijing Normal University and a postdoctoral researcher at Peking University. She is also a standing member of the Chinese Cognitive Linguistics Society, the Chinese Association of Cognitive Neuroscience and Linguistics, the Chinese Psychological Society Eye Movement Psychology Research Professional Committee, and the Chinese Language Psychology Professional Committee. She serves as a reviewer for several international and domestic core journals, including the SSCI journals International Journal of Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and Foreign Language Teaching and Research. Her research interests include cognitive linguistics, business language cognition and eye movement research, and rhetorical language eye movement effects research. She has led over 30 projects, including two national social science projects, two Ministry of Education projects, and three Beijing municipal projects. She is a pioneer in using eye-tracking technology to study Chinese metaphors and has published over 70 papers in international and domestic journals, including SSCI Q1 journals and Foreign Language Teaching and Research. She has also authored three monographs, including "Research on Language and High-level Metaphors," which won the second prize of the seventh National Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award for Higher Education.
Requirements for Postdoctoral Researchers
Hold a doctoral degree, be academically and morally outstanding, be in good health, and be under the age of 35 as a principle;
Have obtained the doctoral degree no more than 3 years ago as a principle;
Be able to fully engage in postdoctoral research during the tenure, and full-time staff must be released from work to engage in postdoctoral research at the university;
Graduates from this university must apply across one discipline level;
Priority will be given to applicants who are recent doctoral graduates or have no labor relations.
Required Materials for Application
"Application Form for Postdoctoral Researchers at Beijing Language and Culture University" (Attachment 3) and "Brief Information of Postdoctoral Applicants" (Attachment 4);
Scanned copies of doctoral degree and diploma certificates (for those who have not yet received their degree and diploma certificates, copies of other materials can be provided to prove that the defense has been completed and graduation has been approved), and for those who have studied abroad, scanned copies of foreign degree and diploma certification must be provided;
Two recommendation letters from experts in the field (one of which is a recommendation letter from the applicant's doctoral supervisor; for those who have studied abroad or are foreign doctoral students, at least one recommendation letter from a foreign professor or expert must be provided);
Supporting materials for the scientific research achievements listed in the application form (project proposal, copies of papers, cover, table of contents and copyright page of monographs, award certificates, etc.);
Materials for political and ideological assessment;
Scanned copy of the doctoral thesis.

Our university will accept postdoctoral station applications from the date of announcement until June 20th. Applicants are requested to send electronic versions of the materials to the mailboxszk@blcu.edu.cn. The electronic materials should include: 1. "Application Form for Postdoctoral Researchers at Beijing Language and Culture University" in both Word and PDF formats, and "Brief Information of Postdoctoral Applicants" in Word format; 2. Materials required for the application (2-5) should be scanned in order and combined into one attachment with a table of contents added before the attachment. The title of the attachment should be (Chinese Language and Literature/Foreign Language and Literature + Name).
