Project introduction
1. "The Neural Mechanism and Individual Heterogeneity of Cross-level Construction of Language Units in Bilinguals" by Dr. Le Li
The fundamental characteristic of human language is that it can construct finite language units (such as words) according to certain grammatical rules, so as to form infinite expressions. Only by constructing acquired vocabulary into higher-level language units such as sentences and discourses can second language learners achieve effective understanding and communication. This project intends to manipulate language experimental materials from the perspective of multilevel language units by combining functional magnetic resonance imaging and cognitive experiments, and investigate the neural mechanism of cross-level construction of language units in bilinguals. English) and cross-bilingual groups to explore the neural representation and processing mechanisms of bilingual language. The research questions and methods of the project fully reflect the interdisciplinary combination of psycholinguistics, second language acquisition and cognitive neuroscience.
