On December 22, 2021, CCSL successfully held an academic salon event. Yan Xiaoying, a doctoral student delivered a talk themed of "Pun Translation Research", and all teachers and students of the base participated.
Yan shared her research ideas and discussed four parts: pun definition, research review, pun translation and experimental design. After the report, attendees heatedly discussed research issues and exchanged their own ideas, experimental tasks and research methods. Based on their own research experience, the teachers put forward specific and feasible suggestions in the design of experimental tasks and the selection of experimental materials, which are highly targeted, inspiring and instructive.
The salon provides an academic interactive platform for teachers and students, it promoted academic exchanges between teachers and students, which helps to promote students’ academic thinking ability, and broadened the academic vision of postgraduates. The academic salon activities have created a good academic atmosphere and helped to improve the scientific research ability as well as academic level of the teachers and students of CCSL.
