On June 8, 2023, the Alumni Association 2023 China's Highest Contributors Scholars List was released by the national third-party university evaluation and research institution, iResearch Alumni Network. According to the list, there are a total of 618 outstanding scholars from the field of literature in Chinese universities who were selected as China's Highest Contributors Scholars for 2023, with Beijing Language University having 10 professors among them. Notably, two professors from the Language and Cognitive Science Discipline Innovation Intelligence Base made the list: Professor Wang Jianqin, the director of the base, and Professor Chen Xianglan, a full-time research member.

The Alumni Association's China's Highest Contributors Scholars List was first launched in 2022 and is currently the only list in China that selects outstanding scholars from Chinese universities based on their "teaching and research contributions." The selection of China's Highest Contributors Scholars is based on the systematic achievements and contributions of Chinese scholars to the country's economic and social development. It evaluates outstanding scholars from various perspectives, including education, teaching, academic research, and social services, using 19 evaluation indicators.
